At Hyde Building Co we’re passionate about well-designed small spaces, which give us freedoms we wouldn’t otherwise consider. We repurpose shipping containers and transform them into stylish, compact spaces which can be utilised for a range of purposes. From teenager’s retreat to home office, art studio, granny flat and even as boutique accommodation for caravan parks, farm stays and holiday homes. There are three starter designs available, with something to suit most purposes.
We are big on style and design efficiently to maximise livability. The containers are 20ft high cube units that are easily transported from our site to yours. They’re very well insulated, with double glazed windows and doors and reverse-cycle air-conditioning. They arrive on your site plug-in ready, on any appropriate flat surface or footing.
This vision started when we designed and created a two-bedroom unit project for clients. Through this process, we realised that with the right construction techniques and materials, shipping containers could be transformed into appealing, practical spaces. Owner builder Ryan Hyde completed a Cabinet Making Apprenticeship in 1997 and also has a Welding Cert, Steel Construction Cert, Carpentry Certs and a Cert 4 in Building and Construction. He has continually expanded skills and expertise across various areas over the years, completing full kitchen and bathroom renovations, shed construction, decks, patios, shipping container homes and more. Ryan also makes custom made timber furniture, with examples of work on the Ghost Wood Designs website. Hyde Building Co can assist with all of the below, with a passion for custom work and bespoke container homes.
